The New Year calls for some new styles - my favourite kind being basics that can be worn dressed up or dressed down depending on what I wear with it. I'm planning on doing a part two with a couple of other basic purchases I've made in January by the end of the week also!
This button-up top is from Urban Outfitters and I'm so obsessed with it. It's super flattering and my perfect style, even more so because it's black!!! It also comes in 3 more colours, the maroon being a close second favourite.
I'm wearing it with a pair of distressed mom jeans for a more casual look, and with a pair of black heels for a night out.
This Zara t-shirt is the holy grail of all basic tee's: soft, tight-fitting and comfortable. I'd wear this everyday with jeans if it was acceptable, especially considering I'm the kind to buy something and wear it to death straight away if I love it.
With that said, I've already had it on with a pair of high waist blue jeans from Topshop (twice) and gym leggings to lounge in.
There isn't a link to the tee on the Zara site as it was 3.99 on sale when I came across it in the Liverpool store.
Speaking of wearing new clothes to death, this oversized grey marl sweater has been mine for a couple of weeks and I've hardly had it off. I love clothes that are easy to throw on and look effortless - the reasoning behind why I have a growing collection of basic sweaters for everyday wear.
Having it in grey however, seems like somewhat of a necessity. I love this with a pair of side-stripe joggers/jeans and Stan Smiths, or black skinny jeans and pointed sock boots for a couple of drinks out.
For £15 you can't go wrong.

That's all for this post but I'll be posting again next week!
